AHCO is now seeking a Practice Manager who offers strong financial and accounting experience coupled with solid operational and client service skills as well as a positive and professional demeanor. Our ideal candidate brings a highly detail-oriented approach to work product, a good sense of humor, and strong office management skills. We are seeking someone who loves to own projects, improve processes, and thrives in creating an exceptional client service experience for both new and long-term clients. An entrepreneurial mind-set coupled with the ability to multi-task and to work steadily and independently within a quiet and collegial, yet fast-paced setting are also a must.
Reporting directly to AHCO’s partners, our ideal candidate will serve as a key member of our firm’s leadership team and will function in two (2) very distinct yet critical roles:
CLIENT SERVICES – Establish client accounts, facilitate asset transfers and collaborate with mutual fund, banking, annuity, and insurance companies. Onboard new clients and assist with all communications and performance statistics. Generate client communications and respond to client service requests. Affirm and settle security transactions and enter trades in the company’s client accounting system. Reconcile transactions and interface with 3rd party custodians. Balance account data with monthly reports from 3rd party custodians.
OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT – Manage the business behind our growing investment advisory practice, including all internal accounting and HR functions, interactions with 3rd party partners, and oversight for related compliance requirements. Perform internal accounting and interface with external accountants for annual reviews and audits. Prepare account billing and ensure collection of receivables. Manage payroll and benefits and accounts payable. Conduct periodic compliance testing and partner with our compliance consultant. Assist with regulatory compliance examinations on behalf of the company. Assume responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of the office. Manage office supplies and equipment, marketing materials, client records, and office policies and procedures. Direct and collaborate with our external IT, marketing, website, compliance, and benefits partners.
Minimum 7-10+ years professional experience managing business operations in a client-centric environment and/or providing high-level support to senior executives or financial team members.
Experience within the financial, accounting, and/or investment industries a plus, but not required.
Accounting experience is required – demonstrated ability to manage small business financials is required, including preparation of P&L statements and other financial reports.
Proven ability to manage client interactions requiring high levels of customer service and an executive presence.
Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and QuickBooks (or similar accounting package) is required.
Experience with portfolio management software and platforms helpful (such as Schwab Portfolio Center, Black Diamond, etc.).
4-year undergraduate degree in business, accounting and/or related field required.

High attention to detail, excellent math and proofreading skills with a perfectionist’s eye
Ability to identify and anticipate potential problems and to self-initiate constructive action and operate independently with minimal supervision.
High level of personal integrity and an ability to maintain total confidentiality regarding clients and company business.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including polished phone and email presence.
Good sense of humor and ability to function and multi-task within a team.
