Build external and internal stakeholder relationships to efficiently manage the credit risk assessment process at QuintilesIMS in a business partner role.
Business Process Owner for credit risk analysis in NA; conduct financial statement review to assess risk profile of counterparty and ensure customer liquidity supports investment in services being granted to customer by QuintilesIMS; provide input into contract terms to achieve cash neutrality and mitigate known risks; continuously review and improve effectiveness of risk assessment process.
Assist in development and implementation of functional shift from regional to global risk assessment with strong linkage to collections strategies, risk stratification, enterprise exposure and monitoring of adverse industry/customer events.
Prepare monthly metrics/KPIs, A/R aging reports and other data sets; manage periodic A/R securitization reporting and annual audit with assigned bank agents; assist in developing robust cash forecasting model.
Develop broad knowledge of customer segmentation and risk elements/strategies for each, as well as enterprise A/R exposure view of billed, unbilled and advance deposits by customer.
Leverage technologies to effectively assess and monitor both public and private entities, communicating relevant changes in counterparty risk to appropriate stakeholders; proactively work to limit bad debt losses within policy.
Ensure compliance with internal financial accounting procedures, SOx and other global policies relevant to the scope of this role.
Assist in coaching, mentoring and leading support staff to best in class performance.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong Excel skills, especially with pivot tables and data manipulation/presentation.
Knowledge of finance modules of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or PeopleSoft; CRM experience helpful.
Solid understanding of Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and Cash Flow components/relationships.
Strong analytical and numeracy skills, especially with various efficiency, leverage, profitability and liquidity data elements.
Effective verbal and written communication skills as well as strong influencing and negotiating skills.
Advanced problem solving skills combined with solutions oriented thinking.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with peers, managers, vendors and customers.
