This position is the administrator of the Field Compliance Bureau within the Taxation Division and oversees management of the day to day operations of the bureau. The Field Compliance Bureau conducts audits of businesses to ensure compliance with sales, use, withholding, and corporate income tax. Some of the duties of this position include: the direct supervision of six Revenue Managers, assisting in the review of proposed legislation, ensuring the correct implementation of passed legislation, developing and maintaining a budget for the bureau, working with the bureau management team to develop strategies to maximize the bureau's resources, and recommending policy and legislative changes to the Division Director. This person must ensure each employee of the bureau is properly trained and provided the tools necessary to succeed. This person must develop good public and staff relations, adhere to laws, rules, and policies, and maintain confidentiality.
Four years of professional experience in business or public management, accounting, finance, loan or tax administration; and graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with specialization in business, public or personnel administration, accounting, finance, economics or a closely related area. (Graduate work in the specified educational areas may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for a maximum of two years of the stated experience. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the stated education.)
