Who We Are:
Windcrest Animal Hospital has been a trusted cornerstone of veterinary care in Wilmington, Delaware, since founded in 1954. What began as a single-doctor practice in a small house has evolved into a thriving, privately owned veterinary group with five practices and over 15 veterinarians. For more than 50 years, we’ve proudly supported our community – not only by providing gold-standard medical care but also by giving pets a second chance through our in-house adoption center and supporting local organizations with donations and sponsorships.
Our state-of-the-art facilities feature cutting-edge technology, allowing us to deliver precise diagnostics and effective treatments. We were the first animal hospital in New Castle County to utilize a carbon dioxide laser, and currently offer advanced tools such as Ligasure, digital and dental radiographs, CCR, Bair Huggers, and full in-house laboratory with Idexx and Abaxis systems. From ultrasound, to advanced surgical procedures, to premiere pet rehabilitation, we ensure pets receive comprehensive and compassionate care. Our patient base is diverse, with 75% small animals and 25% exotics, including pocket pets, avian species, and reptiles. Visit our website at Windcrest Animal Hospital to learn more!
At Windcrest, being privately owned means our team has a voice. We actively incorporate our staff’s ideas and empower our doctors and veterinary nurses to practice high-quality medicine in a collaborative environment. Our total compensation program is built far above industry standards and in the interest and well being of all of our team members. Our mission is to get to the root of illnesses, deliver the most effective treatments, and foster strong relationships with the pets and families we serve.
