Financial & Tax AccountantSydney | Full-Time | $90,000-$110,000 + Super
We're partnering with a well-established financial services organisation seeking a Mandarin-speaking Financial & Tax Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA/CA-qualified accountant with experience in banking or financial services who is looking to broaden their exposure across financial reporting, taxation and regulatory compliance.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you'll play a key role in managing day-to-day finance operations while taking ownership of Australian tax compliance and supporting financial reporting, audits and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily financial operations, including payment processing, journal entries, reconciliations and financial documentation.
- Prepare and lodge Australian tax obligations, including BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and Corporate Income Tax.
- Support tax governance, compliance and risk management, including maintaining documentation and assisting with ATO reviews and audits.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close, financial and regulatory reporting.
- Contribute to the development of finance policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Support internal and external audits, finance projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.
About You
- Fluent in both English and Mandarin (essential).
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualified (or nearing completion).
- Minimum 3 years' experience in financial accounting and taxation within banking or financial services.
- Strong understanding of Australian taxation, including GST, BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and Corporate Income Tax.
- Sound knowledge of financial reporting, accounting standards and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using accounting systems. Exposure to Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting tools is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, organisational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
